Casey Henderson, Ph.D.
Dr. Henderson served a research associate with the Penn Child Research Center after successfully defended her dissertation in education policy at Penn GSE in 2019. Her research interests are centered around early childhood education specifically in urban contexts, risk, and protective factors affecting educational well-being, and innovative uses of integrated administrative data systems for social policy research. Her dissertation research focused on the value of chronic absenteeism as an early warning indicator in education compared to other absense-related variables. Prior to her graduate studies, Casey worked in over 20 schools with a non-profit organization focused on social inclusion for children with disabilities. Casey earned her bachelor’s degree in English from Duke University.
